The SHK Main- and Submain engineering and design
approach provides Microelectronic manufacturers valuable information to optimize their Fab design,
capture enormous value engineering potentials and increase the
facility supply stability.
SHK is using a Reverse Fab Design approach which means, that SHK
starts the engineering at the Point Of Use (POU). All design and engineering results are linked
to the POU requirements. The initial setup is probably more challenging than the typically used
Benchmark approach but as we have realized huge cost saving, start-up speed and operation stability
results we are convinced that the Reverse Fab Design is the right way to go beyond known limits.
Infrastructure design generated by SHK covers all piping and cabling systems. Our modular design
is based on a detailed real size 3D model which covers the aspects
of space management and installation. The location and sizes of Submains and Hook-up interfaces
are the optimized synthesis between the building structures and the production mission of the Fab.
The engineering and design task starts with the data modeling of a detailed database
including breaker ratings, pressure and impurity requirements, peak-, operation- and average flow
figures of all equipments in the full production mode of the Fab. The SHK experience gained in numerous
Start-up projects and the SemiSoft® functions are a perfect
basis to build up quickly a precise data model.
The database is the central data source for the generation of engineering documents. Schematic
drawings implemented in equipment layout drawing extracts and tables showing all required
engineering and design details.
